This is why tanks are referred to as "wheeled coffins." Nice photo! :D

I thought the armor was thicker. There really is no room inside this TD. How do you aim the gun? I see no sight.

TANKS have thick armor, Tank Destroyers generally only have thick frontal armor with thin side and rear armor to protect the crew from shrapenel. The guns on tanks and TDs have offset mechanical sights VERY different from what might be expected on smaller guns, such as rifles and pistols. In this case, the gun was likely aimed by travesing the whole vehicle. Not an easy job, but the results would be quite impessive when done correctly (take note: the guns mounted on TDs are MUCH more powerful than the guns mounted on normal tanks.

The Hetzer could traverse the main gun 5 degrees left and 11 degrees right without having to turn the entire vehicle, but beyond that, you would have to move the vehicle.
Some tank destroyers mounted high powered guns, but others just mounted standard tank guns in lighter vehicles to allow them to "shoot and scoot". The M10 Wolverine and M18 Hellcat both used 76mm guns, which were also used in some Sherman variants. However, the Wolverines and Hellcats would have had priority in recieving the available, specialized anti-tank ammunition such as HVAP, to make their guns more effective. The M10 "Achilles" and the Sherman "Firefly" (Commonwealth service) on the other hand, mounted the QF 17pdr anti-tank gun.
